Medical Advisory Board Member
Brian Haskins has over 20 years of experience working as an Advanced Paramedic and Paramedic Educator in healthcare organisations in the UAE, USA, Ireland and Australia. Brian is currently a PhD Scholar with the ‘Pre-hospital Emergency Care Australia and New Zealand (PEC-ANZ) – NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence’, in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. His PhD research focuses on the optimisation of first responders to provide bystander CPR and defibrillation for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.
Brian is also a Paramedic Lecturer with the Department of Paramedicine in Monash University. He is committed to teaching hands only CPR and AED use to the public and organises mass training events for local schools, sports clubs and community organisations using volunteer Paramedic students as instructors.
On the weekend, Brian enjoys acting as a ‘dogsbody’ for Search and Rescue Dogs Australia and spending time with his family outdoors.
